Vetting and Onboarding

Unfortunately our industry is full of fraud, and the fraud continues to become more sophisticated each year. As a brokerage, we know that it is fully our responsibility to bring in high quality, thoroughly vetted and tested carriers to our clients’ logistics networks.
Ways we combat fraud and provide our clients with high quality asset capacity:

We lean heavily on our core carriers and avoid using platforms like DAT to source capacity as much as possible. Less than 10% of our loads will go to a load board of any kind.

We use Highway, one of the best vetting and onboarding technologies on the market, for vetting and onboarding our carrier partners.

We also check all information with the FMCSA to ensure what we see on Highway and what carriers tell us aligns with what we can see in the FMCSA’s database.

We meet with our carriers, we build relationships with them prior to allowing them into our core network so that we can have successful long term partnerships.

Our Carrier Network

It’s like an exclusive club (seriously). Our core carrier network is the lifeblood of our brokerage operation. With an industry full of fraud, and highly competitive based on quality of service, we do not want to leave our reputation or operational efficiencies up to the spot market. We prioritize high reutilization %s of our core carriers, and over 85% of our customers’ shipments will go on one of our core carriers who has been thoroughly vetted, and most of whom have been running in our network for 12+ months.
As of today, our core carrier base totals roughly 2,000 truck units and over 2,500 trailers. We are in communication with these carriers' operations management teams almost daily. Many of them are executing on the lanes that we are contractually awarded by our shippers on a regular basis.
Our core carriers allow us to differentiate ourselves from other spot market brokers, and provide our clients with an asset based feel no matter if they are using our Logistics company or our Trucking company.

Committed Carriers

We prefer to run our contractual awards from our shipper clients with committed carrier partners. Typically, all of our contractual lanes will run with a primary and secondary carrier. The expectation for the primary is to accept 75% of the tenders they receive on those lanes to retain their position. The expectation of the secondary is to accept 50%, then we often build waterfall routing guides or pods of carriers who fit that lane profile behind those primary and secondary carriers.
In order to be considered for a committed lane, our partners must have 15+ trucks, a 24+ month authority, have already run at least 50 loads in our network, have met our tracking KPIs, and pass weekly vetting in Highway for continued compliance.

Visibility and Tracking

We require our core carriers to accept tracking in order to remain in our core carrier network. FourKites is our primary tool, but we can also adapt to our customers’ preferred visibility tools. We track compliance of our carriers tracking, and failure to hit 98%+ tracking KPIs will result in removal from our core network.
Spot market brokers will struggle to meet this level of tracking compliance because they do not have relationships with those carriers executing the shipments, or know what tools they are using and if they will comply with their tools. We eliminate all of this by holding our core carriers to high standards, and rewarding them with fair rates and dedicated lanes to create strong partnerships that benefit everyone involved.
